Katy (Moen) Jermann has run professionally for Team USA Minnesota in Minneapolis since graduating from Iowa State University in 2015. As a collegian, Katy won two Big 12 Conference Championships (10,000m, 5,000m), earned five All-American honors, and was named the Midwest Regional Track Athlete of the Year. After overcoming injuries earlier in her pro career, Katy’s progression in 2018 and 2019 has been stunning. In June, she became the champion of the Garry Bjorkland Half Marathon in Duluth, MN setting a new personal best time at that distance of 1:10:27, the second fastest time by an American woman this year. In September, Katy finished 2nd in the USA 20K Championships in New Haven, CT> In 2018 she achieved top 10 finishes in the USA 10 Mile Championship (8th), USA 25K Championship (6th), the USA Club XC Championship (10th), and at the Garry Bjorkland¬† Half Marathon where she finished 6th. In her marathon debut at this year’s Houston Marathon she ran 2:33:41. Since Houston she has placed 8th at the USA 15K Championships in Jacksonville, 12th at the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler in Washington, DC, and 2nd at the RRCA National 10K Championships in a personal best time of 32:44. In May, she finished 5th at the USA Half Marathon Championships in Pittsburgh. She is married to Team USA Minnesota teammate (and ERM athlete) Tyler Jermann and is coached by Chris Lundstrom.
