Recent Notre Dame graduate Kevin Salvano had a fabulous start to his professional running career when he ran 2:16:39 to place ninth in the highly competitive 2023 Houston Marathon, a gold label World Athletics’ race. In achieving his Olympic Trials qualifier, Salvano, a non-elite race entry, ran perfectly even splits in Houston of 1:08:29 and 1:08:10. It was both his marathon and pro road racing debut.

At Notre Dame, Salvano played an integral role on two ACC cross country championship teams and on teams that garnered top ten and runner-up finishes at NCAAs. Among his college accomplishments, Salvano was a Great Lakes All-Region cross country selectee and captained the 2019 Fighting Irish team that finished 2nd in the ACC Championship and 8th at the NCAA D1 Championships. At ND he ran a personal best of 28:54 for 10,000 meters and earned All-ACC honors when finishing 4th at that distance at the ACC Track & Field Championships.

Kevin is a 2016 graduate of Buffalo Grove High School, a northwest suburb of Chicago, where he was All-State for three years in cross country and the Illinois 3A individual state champion his senior year. He has a Master’s degree in accounting (also from Notre Dame) and is a licensed CPA working in finance for a firm in Chicago.
