A graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio, Rachel Walny is the most decorated distance runner in that program’s history. The captain of both the cross country and track teams, she holds school records at various distances including the cross country 5k, cross country 6k, 5,000m indoors, and 10,000m outdoors.  A 4X Mid-American Conference First Team honoree in cross country, Rachel is the only Bowling Green athlete ever to have been selected to the NCAA D1 All-Region (Great Lakes) Cross Country team for all 4 years of eligibility. At 10,000m she is a 2X honorable mention NCAA D1 All-American and has posted the 5 fastest times at that distance in school history. Rachel has won her first two races as a professional. In her pro debut in June, she won the competitive 46th annual Dexter-Ann Arbor (MI) 10k in a time of 34:59, setting a new course record. In August, she was the top American and 8th place finisher in the highly competitive HAP 10 Mile race in Flint, Michigan in a time of 56:55. And in November, she ran 1:14:42 to finish 9th in her professional half marathon debut at the Indianapolis Monumental Half Marathon in Indiana.
